Activity 9: Evaluating Wikis

I'm Listening!
In this wiki there are a lot of useful links for the students, though they all should be appropriate for children. The radio station links was a great idea, the best way to improve your listening is to listen to real material, sometimes the listenings in textbooks are too easy and do not show a real live setting.

Listkids
This wiki is very colorful and this always attracts kids. They have some videos, music and some activities. It can be used by a wide variety of young learners.

Listenings and videos
Very organized. The wiki is divided in three different levels and each level is subdivided in two more; listenings and videos with activities related to them. Very nice wiki.

Clilsports
Wiki created for teachers. Divided in different sections. Maybe it would be useful to have a forum where teachers could share their experiences once they have used in class the activities in the wiki. It would be a good idea if they gave lesson plans that the teachers could use and then comment on how they went and introduce some changes to improve them.

Great Job
This wiki deals with vocabulary related to jobs. It is though for young learners of English. I think it is useful to rate the links in the wiki; this helps the users to go straight to the most useful ones. It also includes a comments section where the users can write their opinion (good and bad points) of each link.

Informal English
Very interesting and complete wiki. It shows to the user the English outside the classes, the English that no teacher will teach them and in my opinion, it is very important to know formal English but also informal English since it is what you get in the streets and internet. There are many useful links and a chat room to practice everything that you can find in the wiki. It is very clear and easy to use.
